Eric Yelle (eRATT aka RickRatt the Mystic) is an experimental rapper and producer from Amherst, MA that is paving new waves in the underground scene of Massachusetts alongside his close-friends in the Western Massachusetts-based music collective founded by DJ Lucas known as the Dark World, collectively producing some of the most unique music to come out of Massachussetts to date!

On the side of working with Dark World, eRatt is all over multiple different scenes in Western Massachussetts, never failing to find his way to new audiences and isn’t afraid to explore new boundaries!

He even has close ties with a new up-and-coming collective of producers, DJs, and rappers known as the Creatures of the Night Collective; another Massachussetts based group of creatives.

They specialize more in live performance and electronic music, focusing on providing intimate soundscape experiences to the people through unique bass music of all backgrounds.

Eratt and MF Oblivion go hand in hand covering the emcee duties with verbal wordplays on the mic keeping the crowd engaged while the DJs spin different high energy beats across numerous genres, cooperating as a team to keep the vibes flooding the room!

Eratt is well experienced in keeping his audiences engaged, not only in live performances but also through the digital realm of music with his releases, flourishing on any beat he hops on or creates!

Eric is also one third of the dynamic trio known as 22BB with RydeOrDie and Finesse Fresco, who have collectively been performing and releasing content since 2020, their last original release being “Check Mate” which is a full length album now available on all platforms!

Delving into the roots of who they are, watch 22BB’s music video for “My Mom Said” off of one of their first projects titled “Jet Fuel”, video directed by DJ Lucas!

However, eRatt himself has independently been releasing content since 2010, his freshman year of highschool, when he first started actually cultivating the ”eRatt” character and around the same time period when Dark World initially burst onto the scene!

The name Eratt came from his highschool years, when he and his friends were giving each other funny names and he got “Eric the Ratt”, what had also been the name of a well-known criminal/arsonist around the area at the time (dig deep if you’re curious), but he ended up shortening the name to “Eratt” because it had a more creative spin and original feel to it, as well as helping to give his name a more genuine style that was centered around his art form.

When he started making beats he started creating his productions under the alias RR the Mystic (RickRatt) to give his producer identity a unique atmosphere separate from his eRatt persona.

Check out his video for “JUST WANNA PARTY”, being one of his many self-produced tracks featuring both of his aliases, RR the Mystic and eRatt…

Outside of music, Eratt is also a college graduate of UMass with a degree in english, year of 2018.

Eric is an educated and genuine character, expressing himself in every way possible through his verses, beats, and everyday actions. Focusing on the little impacts and what matters most for the betterment of his future, for himself and those around him.

Very in touch with his personal being and how he keeps his energy balanced, paying close attention to the little things in life and how he carries himself through his day-to-day, continuously exploring new ways to improve his daily routines and experiences.

Go check out his music video for “The Fifth” featuring DJ Lucas, video filmed and edited by Tom Leary!

He started officially recording vocals on tracks in 2010, but didn’t start actually hopping on tracks with people until “further down the line” in 2014 when he actually got into the production end of the song composition. He first learned how to record verses through the mic in his macbook, which is also how his first album “Character of Dark World” was recorded, then released around 2015.

Eratt did his first performance when he was younger in a band with his neighbors, made up him, his brother, his neighbor and his neighbor’s brother. This was how he met DJ Lucas, was in this underground rock scene of western Massachusetts. He later went on to perform independently under his alias Eratt in 2015 at UMass, which is how he found the majority of his fan-base in his earlier years as Eratt, eventually leading into what he does now with the Dark World crew and 22BB.

His most recent show (at the time of writing this) was on December 18th, 2021 in Greenfield, MA at Hawks and Reed performing center, where he performed with 22BB, DJ Lucas, as well as Weird Dane and Kala to a sold-out show with over 300 to 400 people in attendance! The recap video is available to watch on our YouTube channel

Since then he has played at huge events and opened for some major artists, his most notable show this year being the Grass is Greener Music and Arts Festival in Greenfield, MA around 4/22/23 with headliners like Action Bronson and Wyclef Jean! He’s done even more emcee gigs and shows with 22BB since then that I can’t even fully list them all here, but the general point is that the dude is active and takes his showcase of expression seriously, treating it with intense care to the fine details, every show and project exceeding the quality of the last one.

Eratt’s purpose for creating and making music “even after all this time”, and even though it can “impede on financial jobs”, is that it’s what “feels most right, and goes without saying… it’s one of the only things that feels free”

One of his most recent pieces released “One Door Left” is an abstract, dream-pop song with a trip-hop/lofi touch that is undeniably vibing, definitely give the song a listen to get a scoop on the vibes he has been up to. 22BB is definitely worth a listen too, go support the homie on socials, give him a listen, watch some music videos, can promise you’ve never experienced anything quite like it!
